POPULARITY

Construction management is the 124th most popular degree in America, with 2,576 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #125 Fashion Merchandising, and narrowly lost to #123 Apparel and Textiles.

The degree is offered at a total of 76 colleges across the nation, and is the 213th most widely offered degree. It is not offered at any of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that 3 out of every 4 colleges offering construction management are public making it a quite accessible field.

The southeast produces the most construction management graduates, largely led by Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College, while it’s the Southeastern Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Louisiana ranks highest, with particular help from Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College and University of Louisiana at Monroe.

All that being said, no individual school produces more construction management graduates than University of Alaska Fairbanks, which graduated 184 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study construction management). More students studied construction management as a percentage of total students at Everglades University than any other college.
