VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS DEGREES

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES

Visual and performing arts is not an especially popular major. On average, each area of study grants about 6,000 yearly undergraduate degrees; 3,315 students last year earned a four-year degree in visual and performing arts, making it the US' 106th most popular subject. 253 of those students came out of Full Sail University, which has the largest department in the United States, and 554 of those degrees were granted at colleges in Florida.

It possibly isn't easy to decide the right school, since undergraduate degrees in visual and performing arts are available at 243 institutions coast-to-coast. Four-year degrees in visual and performing arts are 26.6% more broadly available than the average course of study, making it the 94th most widely available major.

GRADUATE DEGREES

While 90% of degrees in visual and performing arts last year were four-year degrees; 10% were graduate degrees. Visual and performing arts is the 199th most popular advanced degree in the USA, with 387 degrees awarded. To put that in context, visual and performing arts is 86% less popular among postgraduate students than the average subject.

In Total, 3,702 students received a bachelor's or higher in visual and performing arts last year.

ONLINE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS DEGREES

278 of those 3,702 alumni (7.5%) completed their school work online - 244 undergrads and 34 postgrads. As you can tell by now, visual and performing arts is not a very highly demanded online subject. It's the 81st most popular online degree, and 49.3% shy of the national average of 481 students per concentration. For master's & doctor's students, it ranks 181st, and is 94.5% shy of the nation's average (616).

Full Sail University conferred the most online undergrad degrees in visual and performing arts in the nation (189).

Further, Florida graduates more visual and performing arts online students than any other state (191 undergrad degrees conferred last May). Florida alone accounts for 78% of America's online students.

7.4% of all undergrad degrees in visual and performing arts are completed via an entirely online program, (8.8% for postgraduate degrees). 5.8% of Full Sail University's last undergraduate class majored in visual and performing arts entirely online, higher than any other US institution. 189 students in their 3,255 student class earned an online undergraduate degree in visual and performing arts. They offer 31 subjects online, and had 14,908 enrolled online undergrads last fall. That's 75% of the student body.

Undergrad degrees in visual and performing arts are available comprehensively remotely at 13 colleges across the nation, making it the 94th most universally offered online degree in the country. 5% of colleges that have the degree even have an online option, and 77% of the schools conferring the degree remotely are private. Florida has the most fully remote programs of any state, with 4 schools to choose from.

If you dream to study visual and performing arts and really like the comfort of home, you may want to view the University of Florida, as it has the 11th best visual and performing arts program in the USA. It also provides an additional 67 degrees fully remotely, so their systems are probably reliable. Additionally, they have 1,029 online undergraduates, which is 3% of the entire student body.
