INSURANCE DEGREES
UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES
College students majoring in insurance are hard to come by. On average, each course of study gives out about 6,200 undergraduate degrees per year; 1,396 students last spring earned a college degree in insurance, making it the 182nd most popular subject across the nation. 207 of those students came out of one college, the University of Georgia. 244 of those undergraduate students went to institutions in Pennsylvania.
53 schools in the US award a college degree in insurance; consequently, it may not be easy to determine the best institution. At the undergraduate level, the average major is 3.6 times more universally offered than insurance., making it the 268th most broadly offered course of study.
GRADUATE DEGREES
While 92% of last spring's degrees in insurance were bachelor's degrees; 8% were advanced degrees. Insurance is the 292nd most popular postgrad degree in the USA, with 118 degrees granted. To put that in context, the average subject is 23.5 times more popular among postgraduate students than insurance.
In Total, 1,514 students received a bachelor's or higher in insurance last May.
ONLINE INSURANCE DEGREES
50 of those 1,514 graduates (3.3%) were awarded their degrees completely remotely - 18 undergrads and 32 postgrads. As you can see, insurance is a very unpopular online field. It is the 195th most popular online concentration, and 96.3% south of the national average of 481 students per focus. For postgrad students, it's ranked 186th, and is 94.8% under the national average (616).
The University of Louisiana at Monroe granted 5 online bachelor's degrees, more than any other US school. Last fall, 899 undergraduate students were attending the college comprehensively remotely, 13% of their student body. They offer 14 completely remote subjects, which is 37% of their subjects.
Moreover, Ohio graduates more insurance online students than any other state (7 undergraduate degrees conferred last spring). On its own, Ohio accounts for 39% of the field's remote students.
9 schools in the United States of America offer four-year degrees via a completely remote program, making it the 268th most broadly offered online discipline in the country. 17% of institutions awarding the degree even have an online option, and for each and every private institution providing college degree in insurance there are 1.7 public institutions. Ohio has the most remote programs of any state, with 6 institutions to choose from.
If you wish to study insurance and are serious about online institutions, you should consider applying to Kent State University at Salem, as it has the 20th best insurance program in the United States. They also award an additional 7 degrees remotely, so their systems are presumably pretty good. Furthermore, 555 online college students are enrolled in the college, which is 34% of their whole student body.
