CHILD DEVELOPMENT DEGREES

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES

Child development is a very unpopular course of study. Each subject confers close to 6,000 undergraduate degrees per year; 1,766 people last spring received four-year degrees in child development, making it the 158th most popular major countrywide. 150 of those degrees were granted at a single college, Fresno Pacific University. 480 of those undergrads came out of institutions from California.

Singling out the right college could not be easy, since four-year degrees in child development are offered at 79 colleges nationally. There are 2.4 colleges offering the average subject per every college offering an undergrad degree in child development, making it the 206th most universally available major.

GRADUATE DEGREES

While 91% of degrees in child development last spring were four-year degrees; 9% were graduate degrees. Child development is the 259th most popular postgraduate degree in the USA, with 185 degrees awarded. For context, child development is 93% less popular among postgrads than the average subject.

In Total, 1,951 students received a bachelor's or higher in child development last year.

ONLINE CHILD DEVELOPMENT DEGREES

241 of those 1,951 students (12.4%) were awarded their degrees online - 238 undergraduates and 3 master's & doctor's students. As you can tell by now, very few undergraduate students decide to major in child development online. It's the 84th most popular remote degree, and 50.6% south of the national average of 481 students per area of study. For graduate students, it ranks 284th, and is 99.5% south of the US average (616).

Ashford University granted 127 online undergraduate degrees, more than any other U.S. school. Last fall, 26,914 undergraduate students were enrolled in the institution online, 100% of their students. They offer 58 totally remote areas of study. That's 100% of their courses.

Furthermore, Colleges from California granted the most online undergraduate degrees in child development last May (150). By itself, the state accounts for 63% of the USA's remote students.

13.5% of all four-year degrees in child development are completed online, (1.6% for grad degrees). Post University's last undergraduate class contained a higher percentage of online child development majors than any other institution in America (5.42%). 57 students in their 1,043 student class completed an online undergraduate degree in child development. They offer 81% of their degrees remotely, and had 8,875 enrolled online undergraduate students last fall. That's 91% of the student body.

There are 14 schools in the US with a remote undergraduate degree in child development, making it the 206th most commonly available remote discipline. 18% of colleges supplying the degree even have a remote option, and 50% of the schools providing the degree online are public. The other 50% are private. California has more exclusively online programs than any state, with 2 institutions headquartered there.

If you hope to study child development and are adept at self motivation, you should look at Fresno Pacific University, as it has the best child development program in the USA. They also offer an additional 11 degrees comprehensively remotely, so you could sample classes from another area of study. Furthermore, there are 455 remote college students enrolled, which is 15% of their enrolled students.
