BIOLOGICAL AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES DEGREES

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES

Biological and biomedical sciences is an exceedingly popular college field. On average, each major confers roughly 6,156 annual undergraduate degrees; 126,493 people completed undergrad degrees in biological and biomedical sciences last spring, making it the 4th most popular major coast-to-coast. 1,631 of those students came out of the University of California-San Diego, which has the biggest department in the country. 14,696 of those degrees were granted at schools in California.

It may be difficult to discover the right college, seeing as undergraduate degrees in biological and biomedical sciences are available at 1,440 colleges around the nation. There are 7.5 institutions offering four-year degrees in biological and biomedical sciences for every college offering the average degree, making it the 3rd most broadly offered degree.

GRADUATE DEGREES

While a little south of five out of six degrees in biological and biomedical sciences last spring were four-year degrees; 17% were postgraduate degrees. Biological and biomedical sciences is the 7th most popular graduate degree in the US, with 26,384 degrees granted. For context, graduate degrees in biological and biomedical sciences are 9.5 times more popular among postgrad students than the average course of study.

In Total, 152,877 students received a bachelor's or higher in biological and biomedical sciences last May.

ONLINE BIOLOGICAL AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES DEGREES

1,450 of those 152,877 alumni (0.9%) did their school work completely online - 577 undergraduates and 873 postgrads. As you presumably can see, biological and biomedical sciences has mid-level popularity among exclusively online undergrads. It is the 48th most in-demand remote course of study, and 19.9% north of the national average of 481 students per concentration. For postgrad students, it ranks 34th, and is 41.7% over the nation's average (616).

Florida International University conferred 167 online bachelor's degrees, more than any other college in the United States. Last fall, 10,922 college students were enrolled in the school entirely remotely, 22% of their student body. They offer 36 entirely remote fields. That's 46% of their curriculum.

Additionally, Colleges from Florida granted the most online undergraduate degrees in biological and biomedical sciences last May (227). Florida single-handedly graduates 39% of the subject's online students.

Only 0.5% of all undergrad degrees in biological and biomedical sciences are completed via an exclusively online program, (3.3% for postgrad degrees). The University of Western States' last undergraduate class had the most dense population of online biological and biomedical sciences majors in the US (100%). 116 students in their 116 student class earned an online college degree in biological and biomedical sciences. They offer 100% of their degrees online, and had 31 enrolled online undergraduate students last fall. That's 100% of the student body.

There are 23 institutions across the nation with a remote four-year degree in biological and biomedical sciences, making it the 3rd most universally available remote concentration. One 50th of colleges that have the degree even have a remote option, and 43% of the schools that have the degree remotely are public. The other 57% are private. Florida heads up the nation in providing fully online options, with 4 of the programs located there.

If you dream to study biological and biomedical sciences remotely, you should think about the University of Florida, as it has the 7th best biological and biomedical sciences program in the nation. It also hands out an additional 67 degrees online, so their systems are likely solid. Furthermore, 1,029 online undergrads attend the school, which is 3% of their enrolled students.

PARTIALLY ONLINE BIOLOGICAL AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES DEGREES

  • Biological and biomedical sciences is the 5th most popular partially online undergraduate degree in the US
  • Partially online four-year degrees in biological and biomedical sciences are offered at 1,242 institutions around the country
  • Last May, 30,527 people completed a bachelor's or higher in biological and biomedical sciences partially online
  • 30.37% of Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico-Arecibo's last undergraduate class studied biological and biomedical sciences partially online, higher than any other American college
  • Biological and biomedical sciences is the 8th most popular partially online graduate degree in the United States of America
  • 10.67% of all postgraduate degrees in biological and biomedical sciences are completed partially online

IN-PERSON BIOLOGICAL AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES DEGREES

  • 97,996 students last May received undergraduate degrees in biological and biomedical sciences completely in-person
  • Biological and biomedical sciences is the most broadly available exclusively in-person undergrad degree across the nation
  • 77.47% of all college degree in biological and biomedical sciences are done in-person
  • Xavier University of Louisiana's last undergraduate class contained a higher percentage of exclusively in-person biological and biomedical sciences majors than any other American institution (38.8%)
  • 85.89% of all postgrad degrees in biological and biomedical sciences are earned comprehensively in-person
