INTRODUCTION

If you think life as a web developer, web application developer, or web graphic designer sounds interesting, then a degree in web design may just be for you. You could even become the creator of the next billion dollar website!

POPULARITY

Web design is the 193rd most popular degree in America, with 1,227 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #194 Photography, and narrowly lost to #192 Health Teacher Education.

The degree is offered at a total of 119 colleges across the nation, and is the 139th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 2% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that more or less seven tenths of colleges offering web design are public making it a quite accessible field.

The mid east produces the most web design graduates, largely led by The New School, while it’s the Pacific-12 Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, New York ranks highest, with particular help from The New School and Touro College.

All that being said, no individual school produces more web design graduates than Central Arizona College, which graduated 212 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study web design). More students studied web design as a percentage of total students at School of Visual Arts than any other college.

Good luck finding the right college for you. We hope you enjoy Authority's 2022 official Best Colleges for Web Design list. Some of our picks may surprise you!
