POPULARITY
Technology teacher education is the 338th most popular degree in America, with 247 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #339 Home Economics Teacher Education, and narrowly lost to #337 Geological Engineering.
The degree is offered at a total of 56 colleges across the nation, and is the 255th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 1% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.
It is also worth noting that just over five in every six colleges offering technology teacher education are public making it a very accessible field.
The plains produces the most technology teacher education graduates, largely led by Fort Hays State University, while it’s the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association that leads conference totals. As far as states, Kansas ranks highest, with particular help from Fort Hays State University and Pittsburg State University.
All that being said, no individual school produces more technology teacher education graduates than Fresno City College, which graduated 33 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study technology teacher education). More students studied technology teacher education as a percentage of total students at SUNY College at Oswego than any other college.
