POPULARITY
Sales and merchandising is the 127th most popular degree in America, with 2,473 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #128 Homeland Security, and narrowly lost to #126 Legal Studies.
The degree is offered at a total of 62 colleges across the nation, and is the 237th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 3% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.
It is also worth noting that three in every four colleges offering sales and merchandising are public making it a quite accessible field.
The mid east produces the most sales and merchandising graduates, largely led by CUNY Bernard M Baruch College, while it’s the Southeastern Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Texas ranks highest, with particular help from Baylor University and University of Houston.
All that being said, no individual school produces more sales and merchandising graduates than Gadsden State Community College, which graduated 421 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study sales and merchandising). More students studied sales and merchandising as a percentage of total students at CUNY Bernard M Baruch College than any other college.
