Radiation therapy is the 199th most popular degree in America, with 1,200 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #200 Forestry.

The degree is offered at a total of 82 colleges across the nation, and is the 196th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 2% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that in the neighborhood of 7/9ths of colleges offering radiation therapy are public making it a quite accessible field.

The great lakes produces the most radiation therapy graduates, largely led by Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, while it’s the Sun Belt Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Pennsylvania ranks highest, with particular help from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

All that being said, no individual school produces more radiation therapy graduates than Mohave Community College, which graduated 86 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study radiation therapy). More students studied radiation therapy as a percentage of total students at Kent State University at Salem than any other college.
