College often can be a fabulously poignant time of one's life; it's an opportunity for personal growth and evolution. Undergrads attempt to find out what they desire to become and cultivate many of the indispensable skills to be a thriving member of society. But growth goes beyond a classroom environment - the late nights discussing Jane Austen with a classmate, the personal lesson received from an eccentric professor, the exposure to a different view. As such, a diverse univeristy experience vastly enriches what you gain from your time spent in school.

Preschool Education and Teaching is a slightly more racially diverse subject than average*. 61% of the nation's Preschool Education and Teaching majors are white students, followed by black students (20%), latino students (11%), and asian students (4%). The most ethnically diverse college* in the top 100 is Georgia State University located in Atlanta, GA.

Second, Preschool Education and Teaching is the the 3rd most female dominated subject, with 97% of students identify as women. Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA has the most gender balanced student body in the top 100.

Another critical type of diversity is class diversity. Preschool Education and Teaching ranks in the top 24% of programs for class diversity. 29% of its majors come from low income families, 16% are from homes taking in between $30,000 and $48,000 a year, and 23% grew up in families with $110,000 plus annual incomes.
