INTRODUCTION

If you think life as a preschool teacher, child development counselor, or homeschool specialist sounds interesting, then a degree in preschool education and teaching may just be for you. You could even become a preschool principal that keeps the parents comfortable!

DEGREE STATS

Preschool education and teaching is the 228th most popular degree in America, with 850 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #229 Urban Planning, and narrowly lost to #227 Natural Sciences

The degree is offered at a total of 76 colleges across the nation, and is the 213th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 2% of the Top 100 Best Collegesin America.

It is also worth noting that 73% of colleges offering preschool education and teaching are public making it a quite accessible field.

The southeast produces the most preschool education and teaching graduates, largely led by University of Arkansas, while it’s the Sun Belt Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, North Carolina ranks highest, with particular help from Catawba Collegeand University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

All that being said, no individual school produces more preschool education and teaching graduates than Mesa Community College, which graduated 125 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study preschool education and teaching). More students studied preschool education and teaching as a percentage of total students at Rust Collegethan any other college.
