POPULARITY
Nuclear medical technology is the 319th most popular degree in America, with 308 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #320 Environmental Biology, and narrowly lost to #318 Environmental Control Technologies.
The degree is offered at a total of 46 colleges across the nation, and is the 286th most widely offered degree. It is not offered at any of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.
It is also worth noting that a little north of seven in ten colleges offering nuclear medical technology are public making it a quite accessible field.
The great lakes produces the most nuclear medical technology graduates, largely led by Ferris State University, while it’s the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Ath Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Pennsylvania ranks highest, with particular help from Indiana University of Pennsylvania-Main Campus and Robert Morris University.
All that being said, no individual school produces more nuclear medical technology graduates than GateWay Community College, which graduated 23 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study nuclear medical technology). More students studied nuclear medical technology as a percentage of total students at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences than any other college.
