College is a particularly revelatory investment in one's life; it's a chance for individual growth and development. Pupils begin to ascertain who they are and cultivate the crucial skills to become a successful adult. But growth is more than sitting in a classroom environment - the late nights discussing Noriega with a schoolmate, the personal lesson gained from a tenured instructor, the exposure to a different way of looking it. Therefore, a diverse univeristy experience vastly improves what you gain from your time spent in university.

Music Technology is a less ethnically diverse focus than average*. 65% of the nation's Music Technology majors are white students, followed by students of other races**(14%), latino students (11%), and black students (7%). The most ethnically diverse college* in the top 100 is New York University located in New York, NY.

Furthermore, Music Technology very heavily skews male, more so 94% of subjects. A tad greater than 4/5 of students majoring in Music Technology identify as men. Millersville University of Pennsylvania in Millersville, PA has the most gender balanced student body in the top 100.

Another important type of diversity is economic diversity. Music Technology ranks in the top 25% of subjects for wealth diversity. 27% of its students come from low income households, 16% are from households that make between $48,000 and $75,000 a year, and 26% grew up in households earning over $110,000 per year. Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis is the most fiscally diverse school in the top 100.

Considering each type of diversity, overall NY is the most diverse state for Music Technology. The Mid East is the most diverse region, and the University Athletic Association is the most diverse conference.
