College can be a profoundly consequential time of one's life; it is a chance for individual growth and expansion. Pupils start to find out what they hope to become and cultivate many of the required skills to become a thriving adult. But learning goes far beyond a classroom environment - the late nights discussing Duchamp with a classmate, the nugget of wisdom received from an eccentric instructor, the exposure to a different way of looking it. As such, a diverse student population vastly improves what you gain from your time spent in university.
Marketing is a less ethnically diverse subject than average*. 68% of the nation's Marketing majors are white students, followed by latino students (12%), students of other races**(10%), and asian students (6%). The most ethnically diverse college* in the top 100 is University of Houston in Houston, TX.
Moreover, Marketing significatly skews female, with hardly under 3 out of every 5 students majoring in Marketing identifying as women. The most gender balanced school in the top 100 is Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
Another substantial type of diversity is economic diversity. Unfortunately, Marketing is less socioeconomically diverse than 85% of focuses in the nation. 34% of its students come from households with $110,000 plus annual incomes, 15% are from middle income families, and 22% grew up in homes that take home under $30,000 a year. Oklahoma State University-Main Campus is the most economically diverse college in the top 100.
Considering each type of diversity, overall CA is the most diverse state for Marketing. The Far West is the most diverse region, and the Ivy League is the most diverse conference.
