College is an especially productive period of one's life; it's an opportunity for personal growth and maturation. Students begin to capture what they can be and cultivate many of the essential skills to be a thriving adult. But learning is deeper than what one learns in a classroom - the interactions which one has with their schoolmates, the nugget of wisdom learned from an old professor, the exposure to a different worldview. Therefore, a diverse student experience greatly enriches what one gains from the time at university.

Interdisciplinary Studies is a slightly more racially diverse subject than average*. 55% of the nation's Interdisciplinary Studies majors are white students, followed by black students (23%), latino students (13%), and students of other races**(6%). The most racially diverse college* in the top 100 is East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania located in East Stroudsburg, PA.

Furthermore, Interdisciplinary Studies significatly skews female, with 62% of students majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies identifying as women. The most gender balanced school in the top 100 is John Carroll University in University Heights, OH.
