POPULARITY

Information technology administration and management is the 67th most popular degree in America, with 7,229 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #68 Social Sciences, and narrowly lost to #66 Environmental Science.

The degree is offered at a total of 288 colleges across the nation, and is the 79th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 9% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that 62% of colleges offering information technology administration and management are public making it a quite accessible field.

The mid east produces the most information technology administration and management graduates, largely led by University of Maryland Global Campus, while it’s the Big Ten Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Utah ranks highest, with particular help from Brigham Young University-Provo and Western Governors University.

All that being said, no individual school produces more information technology administration and management graduates than University of Alabama at Birmingham, which graduated 1073 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study information technology administration and management). More students studied information technology administration and management as a percentage of total students at Whatcom Community College than any other college.
