2023 Health Teacher Education Students

College is a fabulously productive time in one's life; it is an opportunity for individual growth and maturation. Undergrads continue to realize what they hope to do and develop the needed skills to be a prosperous member of society. But learning is not confined to a classroom - the campus dialogue, the life lesson gained from an old instructor, the exposure to a different interpretation of the situation. As such, a diverse student experience tremendously improves what one gains from the time spent in university.

Health Teacher Education is a more ethnically diverse subject than average*. 55% of America's Health Teacher Education majors are white students, followed by black students (17%), latino students (11%), and students of other races**(9%). The most racially diverse college* in the top 100 is University of Nevada-Las Vegas located in Las Vegas, NV.

Furthermore, Health Teacher Education significatly skews female, with 74% of students majoring in Health Teacher Education identifying as women. University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY has the most gender balanced student body in the top 100.

Another critical type of diversity is financial diversity. Health Teacher Education is the 13th most economically diverse major in the nation. 25% of its majors come from homes with a sub $30,000 income, 17% are from homes earning between $48,000 and $75,000 a year, and 25% grew up in very high income families. SUNY College at Brockport has the most fiscally diverse student body in the top 100.

Considering each type of diversity, overall NV is the most diverse state for Health Teacher Education. The Southeast is the most diverse region, and the Atlantic 10 Conference is the most diverse conference.
