POPULARITY
Health care administration is the 39th most popular degree in America, with 12,414 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #40 Human Resources, and narrowly lost to #38 Early Childhood Education and Teaching.
The degree is offered at a total of 447 colleges across the nation, and is the 46th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 7% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.
It is also worth noting that 35% of colleges offering health care administration are public making it a relatively inaccessible field.
The southeast produces the most health care administration graduates, largely led by University of Central Florida, while it’s the Conference USA that leads conference totals. As far as states, Florida ranks highest, with particular help from University of Central Florida and Florida Atlantic University.
All that being said, no individual school produces more health care administration graduates than GateWay Community College, which graduated 582 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study health care administration). More students studied health care administration as a percentage of total students at Concorde Career College-Kansas City than any other college.
