Exercise physiology is the 99th most popular degree in America, with 3,700 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #100 Athletic Training, and narrowly lost to #98 Operations Management and Supervision.

The degree is offered at a total of 79 colleges across the nation, and is the 206th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 6% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that 47% of colleges offering exercise physiology are public making it a pretty accessible field.

The southeast produces the most exercise physiology graduates, largely led by Florida State University, while it’s the Southeastern Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Florida ranks highest, with particular help from Florida State University and University of Florida.

All that being said, no individual school produces more exercise physiology graduates than Colorado State University-Fort Collins, which graduated 250 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study exercise physiology). More students studied exercise physiology as a percentage of total students at Life University than any other college.
