POPULARITY

Construction engineering technology is the 136th most popular degree in America, with 2,391 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #137 Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics and Special Effects, and narrowly lost to #135 French Language and Literature.

The degree is offered at a total of 59 colleges across the nation, and is the 249th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 1% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that 97% of colleges offering construction engineering technology are public making it a very accessible field.

The southwest produces the most construction engineering technology graduates, largely led by University of Houston, while it’s the Southeastern Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Texas ranks highest, with particular help from University of Houston and Texas State University.

All that being said, no individual school produces more construction engineering technology graduates than Jefferson State Community College, which graduated 316 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study construction engineering technology). More students studied construction engineering technology as a percentage of total students at Seminole State College of Florida than any other college.
