POPULARITY

Computer graphics is the 213th most popular degree in America, with 962 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #214 Science, Technology and Society, and narrowly lost to #212 Commercial and Advertising Art.

The degree is offered at a total of 40 colleges across the nation, and is the 303rd most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 2% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that 63% of colleges offering computer graphics are public making it a quite accessible field.

The great lakes produces the most computer graphics graduates, largely led by Indiana Wesleyan University-Marion, while it’s the Big Ten Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Indiana ranks highest, with particular help from Indiana Wesleyan University-Marion and Purdue University-Main Campus.

All that being said, no individual school produces more computer graphics graduates than Arizona Western College, which graduated 170 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study computer graphics). More students studied computer graphics as a percentage of total students at Atlantic University College than any other college.
