POPULARITY

Commercial and advertising art is the 212th most popular degree in America, with 964 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #213 Computer Graphics, and narrowly lost to #211 Computer Engineering Technologies.

The degree is offered at a total of 98 colleges across the nation, and is the 169th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 1% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that seven in ten colleges offering commercial and advertising art are public making it a quite accessible field.

The great lakes produces the most commercial and advertising art graduates, largely led by University of Cincinnati-Main Campus, while it’s the Mid-American Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Ohio ranks highest, with particular help from University of Cincinnati-Main Campus and Columbus College of Art and Design.

All that being said, no individual school produces more commercial and advertising art graduates than Coastal Alabama Community College, which graduated 78 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study commercial and advertising art). More students studied commercial and advertising art as a percentage of total students at Columbus College of Art and Design than any other college.
