INTRODUCTION

If you think life as an audiologist, audio based therapist, or audiology researcher sounds interesting, then a degree in audiology may just be for you. You could even become a researcher for medical applications of sound!

DEGREE STATS

Audiology is the 88th most popular degree in America, with 4,559 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #89 Air Transportation, and narrowly lost to #87 Management Science

The degree is offered at a total of 112 colleges across the nation, and is the 149th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 6% of the Top 100 Best Collegesin America.

It is also worth noting that approximately 7/9 of colleges offering audiology are public making it a quite accessible field.

The southeast produces the most audiology graduates, largely led by The University of Alabama, while it’s the Southeastern Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, New York ranks highest, with particular help from CUNY Brooklyn Collegeand CUNY Lehman College.

All that being said, no individual school produces more audiology graduates than Arizona State University-Tempe, which graduated 241 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study audiology). More students studied audiology as a percentage of total students at Eastern New Mexico University-Main Campusthan any other college.
