College is an immensely impactful investment in one's life; it's a chance for individual growth and maturation. Students try to capture their values and forge the essential skills to become a successful member of society. But growth goes beyond the classroom - the campus dialogue, the wild anecdote gained from a tenured professor, the exposure to a different worldview. Therefore, finding a diverse college greatly improves what one gains from the time in college.

Athletic Training is a less ethnically diverse subject than average*. 74% of the nation's Athletic Training majors are white students, followed by latino students (11%), black students (6%), and students of other races**(6%). The most racially diverse college* in the top 100 is Long Island University&nbspin Brookville, NY.

In addition, Athletic Training significatly skews female, with a touch under 62.5% of students majoring in Athletic Training identifying as women. The most gender balanced school in the top 100 is California State University-Fullerton in Fullerton, CA.

Another important type of diversity is economic diversity. Athletic Training is somewhere around the middle of the pack for economic diversity (42nd percentile). 30% of its students come from households with $110,000 plus annual incomes, 16% are from families bringing in between $48,000 and $75,000 a year, and 23% grew up in low income households. University of North Carolina at Charlotte is the most economically diverse college in the top 100.

Considering each type of diversity, overall VA is the most diverse state for Athletic Training. The Southwest is the most diverse region, and the Patriot League is the most diverse conference.
