POPULARITY

Agricultural mechanization is the 300th most popular degree in America, with 391 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It narrowly lost to #299 Russian Language and Literature.

The degree is offered at a total of 21 colleges across the nation, and is the 377th most widely offered degree. It is not offered at any of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that 97% of colleges offering agricultural mechanization are public making it a very accessible field.

The plains produces the most agricultural mechanization graduates, largely led by Iowa State University, while it’s the Big Twelve Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Iowa ranks highest, with particular help from Iowa State University and Butte College, which graduated 64 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study agricultural mechanization). More students studied agricultural mechanization as a percentage of total students at SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill than any other college.
