If you think life as an internal audit, accounting executive, or accounting consultant sounds interesting, then a degree in accounting and business management may just be for you. You could even become the person that moves the money where it is needed!
Accounting and business management is the 216th most popular degree in America, with 945 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #217 Biotechnology, and narrowly lost to #215 Agricultural Production Operations
The degree is offered at a total of 106 colleges across the nation, and is the 153rd most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 2% of the Top 100 Best Collegesin America.
It is also worth noting that 15% of colleges offering accounting and business management are public making it a quite inaccessible field.
The southeast produces the most accounting and business management graduates, largely led by East Carolina University, while it’s the American Athletic Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, North Carolina ranks highest, with particular help from East Carolina Universityand University of Mount Olive.
All that being said, no individual school produces more accounting and business management graduates than Alaska Career College, which graduated 88 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study accounting and business management). More students studied accounting and business management as a percentage of total students at Touro University Worldwidethan any other college.
