Benefits of Studying Online in New Jersey
What better state to study online than in the Garden State of New Jersey? Not only is it the 11th most populous state in the nation (with a population of nearly nine and half million people), but it’s also strategically located in the northeastern corridor of the United States, making it ideal to access public transportation systems and an array of metropolitan cities such as New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. It is also home to the New Jersey Turnpike, one of the nation’s major transportation highways, which traverses the state from north to south. The state also accounts for 2.8% of the nation’s population, 47th in land area, and showcases a diverse population in terms of both ethnicity and religion.
Employment Stats
The economic and employment prospects for those living in New Jersey are strong. As of October 2022, the state boasted more than 4.2 million employees, making it the 11th largest provider of jobs in the nation (2.77% of the nation’s workforce). This also makes New Jersey one of the faster growing states, as the total employed number of jobs grew by 4.15% over the previous year. That growth proved to be the 8th highest rate of any state. This is a stark contrast to the median state, which New Jersey outperformed by more than 2.27 million jobs (or 115%)
New Jersey also surpassed Virginia, which (with 4.1 million employed workers) was the 12th largest employer in the nation, coming in just 146,000 short of NJ (or a gap of 3.57%). Michigan, however, barely edged out New Jersey for the 10th spot by a margin of -123,000 (or a negative difference of -2.8%). So it may be in the 11th spot, but New Jersey still falls more than 76% below the nation leader in terms of jobs available (which is not unexpected due to its lower population).
Job Opportunities
New Jersey is one of the top contenders for students looking to pursue higher education in the US. With a number of world-renowned universities, most notably Princeton University and Rutgers, the state offers top-tier education for students of any background. Also worth noting is the diversity of job opportunities available in the state. With 756 unique job types, New Jersey has 4.7% more occupational diversity than the national median of 722, which puts it in the 15th position. Louisiana is a good example of the median number of job pathways, since it tallied 722 unique positions.
when it comes to the weather, you’ll be able to experience all four seasons, with mild winters and hot summers. In terms of outdoor recreation, the Jersey shore is obviously one of the most popular spots in the summer, while trips to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in the colder months can provide excellent hiking opportunities.
Job prospects in New Jersey are abundant, especially with a number of Fortune 500 companies like Johnson & Johnson, Prudential Financial, and Honeywell International Inc. all headquartered in the state. With a mix of short and long term job opportunities, graduates can have confidence that their postgraduate lives will be as rewarding as their college education.
In summary, New Jersey is an excellent place to consider for a variety of opportunities ranging from job prospects to popular attractions. Not only are job opportunities plentiful, but the state also offers an array of cultural activities and entertainment possibilities for students to take advantage of. So if one is in consideration for the Garden State, its worthwhile to take a closer look at what New Jersey has to offer.
