Why Should I Consider Studying in Nevada?
Nevada can provide an exciting blend of urban and rural living for students attending college in the state. Nevada has some of the most beautiful and iconic deserts in the world which highlight the grandeur of the American Southwest. Las Vegas is a whole different kind of grandeur, providing students with a totally unique nightlife and opportunities to enjoy any kind of entertainment imaginable. On the other hand, Carson City and Reno have a much more laid back atmosphere compared to Las Vegas, while still showcasing many of the things that make Nevada stand out.
Most of Nevada’s higher education is found in the state’s main metropolitan areas. Following this principle are University of Nevada - Las Vegas, University of Nevada - Reno, and the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. UNLV is known for a multitude of educational and research opportunities within economics, education, and health sciences. UNR similarly offers an array of undergraduate and graduate degrees, but their focus is more on the natural sciences, engineering, and business. Finally, the College of Southern Nevada is one of the largest community colleges in the nation and provides many students with affordable associate degrees.
