 ### UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES

 It is pretty rare to find an American majoring in musical theatre. An average concentration gives out 6,156 bachelor's degrees per year; last May, 698 people received bachelor's degrees in musical theatre, making it the USA's 248th most popular subject for undergraduate students. [Berklee College of Music](/colleges/berklee-college-of-music)​ gave out 56 of those degrees (#1 in the country). Schools in New York conferred more degrees than any American State (129).

 Bachelor's degrees in musical theatre are available at 104 institutions countrywide; ergo, it can often be tricky to pick the right college. In comparison with the typical field, there are 45.8% fewer schools offering four-year degrees in musical theatre, making it the 156th most commonly available degree in the United States of America.

 ### GRADUATE DEGREES

 While last year, 98% of degrees in musical theatre were undergraduate degrees; 2% were grad degrees. Musical theatre is the 373rd most popular postgraduate degree in the country, with 17 degrees conferred. To put that in context, musical theatre is 99% less popular among graduate students than the average subject.

 In Total, 715 students received a bachelor's or higher in musical theatre last spring.

 ### ONLINE MUSICAL THEATRE DEGREES

Only 1 American college offers musical theatre exclusively online, and none of the students who earned undergrad degrees or postgraduate degrees in musical theatre last May took remote programs. ### PARTIALLY ONLINE MUSICAL THEATRE DEGREES
