 ### UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES

 College students majoring in agriculture are hard to come by. Each major awards about 6,000 annual undergraduate degrees; 2,377 students last spring earned a college degree in agriculture, making it the 139th most popular focus across the country. 221 of those degrees were conferred at one college, [Illinois State University](/colleges/illinois-state-university), and 378 of those degrees were earned at institutions in Texas.

 Determining the best program may often be difficult, as undergraduate degrees in agriculture are available at 80 institutions in America. Bachelor's degrees in the typical area of study are offered at 2.4 times more colleges than degrees in agriculture, making it the 200th most widely offered U.S. focus.

 ### GRADUATE DEGREES

 While 88% of last year's degrees in agriculture were bachelor's degrees; 12% were postgraduate degrees. Agriculture is the 217th most popular grad degree in the United States of America, with 322 degrees granted. To put that in context, the average subject is 8.6 times more popular among postgrad students than agriculture.

 ### ONLINE AGRICULTURE DEGREES

 105 of those 2,699 graduates (3.9%) completed online programs - 62 undergraduates and 43 postgrad students. As you can presumably tell, agriculture is a hugely unpopular online course of study. It is currently the 144th most popular remote subject, and 87.1% south of the national average of 481 students per course of study. For postgrad students, it ranks 171st, and is 93% south of the nation's average (616).

 Furthermore, Oregon graduates more agriculture online students than any other state (24 bachelor's degrees awarded last spring). Oregon alone graduates 39% of the USA's online students.

 Just 2.6% of all undergrad degrees in agriculture are completed in a remote program, (13.4% for graduate degrees). 2.03% of [The University of Tennessee-Martin's](/colleges/the-university-of-tennessee-martin)​ last undergraduate class majored in agriculture fully remote, higher than any other U.S. school. 24 students in their 1,176 student class earned an online college degree in agriculture. They offer 6 programs completely remote, and had 1,055 enrolled online college students last fall. That's 16% of the student body.

 Undergraduate degrees in agriculture are available online at 5 schools countrywide, making it the 200th most commonly offered online American degree. A tad above one twentieth of schools furnishing the degree even have an exclusively online option, and only public institutions provide undergraduate degree in agriculture.
