Science teacher education is the 292nd most popular degree in America, with 435 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It narrowly lost to #291 Systems Science and Theory.

The degree is offered at a total of 256 colleges across the nation, and is the 87th most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 5% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.

It is also worth noting that hardly under 5/9ths of colleges offering science teacher education are public making it a pretty accessible field.

The great lakes produces the most science teacher education graduates, largely led by Central Michigan University, while it’s the Mid-American Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Michigan ranks highest, with particular help from Calvin University and Central Michigan University.

All that being said, no individual school produces more science teacher education graduates than California State University-Long Beach, which graduated 37 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study science teacher education). More students studied science teacher education as a percentage of total students at Turtle Mountain Community College than any other college.
