POPULARITY
Religious education is the 230th most popular degree in America, with 843 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #231 Recreational Therapy, and narrowly lost to #229 Urban Planning.
The degree is offered at a total of 97 colleges across the nation, and is the 170th most widely offered degree. It is not offered at any of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.
It is also worth noting that No colleges offering religious education are public making it a quite inaccessible field.
The southwest produces the most religious education graduates, largely led by Grand Canyon University, while it’s the Western Athletic Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, Arizona ranks highest, with particular help from Grand Canyon University and The Catholic University of America, which graduated 265 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study religious education). More students studied religious education as a percentage of total students at Trinity International University-Illinois than any other college.
