POPULARITY
Industrial management is the 191st most popular degree in America, with 1,255 students receiving their bachelors degree last year. It just beat out #192 Health Teacher Education, and narrowly lost to #190 Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications.
The degree is offered at a total of 64 colleges across the nation, and is the 233rd most widely offered degree. It is only offered at 6% of the Top 100 Best Colleges in America.
It is also worth noting that 62% of colleges offering industrial management are public making it a quite accessible field.
The great lakes produces the most industrial management graduates, largely led by Eastern Michigan University, while it’s the Pacific-12 Conference that leads conference totals. As far as states, New York ranks highest, with particular help from Clarkson University and New York University.
All that being said, no individual school produces more industrial management graduates than University of Arkansas, which graduated 98 students last year alone. Although size is critical, another important factor to consider is the program’s density (the percent of all students that study industrial management). More students studied industrial management as a percentage of total students at Clarkson University than any other college.
